Idiot of the first degree. Fool. Finds himself quite funny. He's not funny. Confirmed as a vandal. Possessed of some strange abilities. Also courageous, and that can't be overlooked. Willing to risk his life for others. Determined. Definitely very annoying. Claims to do magic? Bears further investigating. Investigation will unfortunately mean I have to spend more time with him. This is terrible. Edit, Aug.: Truly a good fellow. Amongst the best of fellows, I should say. Decent fellow. Idiot, no question about that. But decent. Artist. From a much earlier time. You wouldn't know it from his very modern sensibilities. I feel perhaps a bit "unco He is the sort of person who can charm others, but not in a way that seems manipulative or untrustworthy. He is not terrible to spend time with. Brave. He thinks I am a friend? Intelligent enough. A bit frustratingly egotistical. Of course it is good to have self-confidence, but this is almost embarrassing. Specializes in neurology. Could be a resource. Can't help but wonder if we're all mad here; he could help investigate. Thinks himself charming. Thinks I'm a fellow "nerd." What exactly is a "nerd"?

Far too familiar, but a good woman. Caring. Seems to care even for me, in spite of the fact she doesn't even know me. A foolish thing, but oddly touching. But I'm not affected by that sort of thing, so she could better apply her time elsewhere. Took in her sister's children when their parents perished, in spite of the fact that she scarcely had the resources to handle that. Where does one acquire such greatness of spirit? Would that more were like her. Possibly mad? Claims to be Sherlock Holmes, a sign enough of madness - also claims he was held somewhere else where he was forced to where the treatment was unpleasant where he was forced to engage in sexual intercourse. Stories such as those often bespeak a great prior trauma. Intelligent enough. Enjoys poking fun. I don't know what to do with him. Intelligent enough. A competent doctor. Ultimately he's claiming to be Dr. Watson of the stories just like Holmes is claiming to be Holmes, isn't he? Absurd, yet Watson has an oddly soothing manner. Seems competent. Not that Holmes doesn't, but there's less of a sense of madness & chaos about him. I find myself liking him, foolishly. Tends to say kind but stupid things. Edit, Aug.: Looking after Libby. I don't know how I can repay him for what he's doing; fortunately, I also know better than to offer repayment.

Gaudeamus igitur iuvenes dum sumus.
A good fellow, and a good leader. Honorable. He is a king back home, despite his relative youth (18 and no more), leading a war, all of which would under most circumstances indicate that he is one to avoid. Yet far from being swayed by his power, he questions himself and doubts himself. Comes from a point earlier than the others of his home; are they keeping information from him? Defensive and prickly, far beyond what is reasonable. I but asked some questions, but by his reaction one would think I had cast aspersions upon his very honor by doing so. Illegitimate son of the Stark family, but there seems to be little enough resemblance between them. They're good, honorable, considerate folk; he is hostile. He might hold useful information, but he's too caught up in his self-importance to share it. He seems like a very intelligent child. Possessed of a fearsome "direwolf." Comes from a Medieval-esque society; unfamiliar with much modern technology, modern customs, etc., but has adapted. Cannot walk. Are there good books on the ship? Wolf likes having his ears scratched. Family consists of R. Stark, J. Snow.

The "captain"
Contritium praecedit superbia.
A young woman of a certain courage; that much cannot be denied. At home she is evidently forced to fight and to defend, but why should that be her responsibility? She seems to be pure id, to use an idiotic and outdated term, with a drive for violence and for with all that entails. She does not seem to like me much. That makes things a bit more difficult. She maintains at home she killed demons and the like; she must be watched for signs of schizophrenia. Edit, Aug.: She is a confessed murderer. What is wrong with me, that I still hold sympathy for her? How far have my morals slipped? It should be my duty to eradicate people such as her from the world, and yet I still converse with her, still allow myself to doubt...Folly. Hard to understand. Jumps to conclusions; judgmental. Thinks I am young and incompetent. I will show him to the truth of the matter, of course, and he will stand ashamed. Yet he is not altogether an idiot himself; he provided an herb which might well have helped save Kelly's life. Something like that cannot be ignored. But he treats me like a child, and that marks him as someone of limited intellect. Also, does he know the principles of proper hygiene?? Self-proclaimed captain. Decent enough sort. Too bold. Problems are solved by applied thought, not by hitting things. Many people respect him, because they too seem to be fans of hitting things. Might need his cooperation in accomplishing anything. This is frustrating.

Kirk's deputy or whatever one calls the one below a captain. Lieutenant, perhaps. The military is deeply tiresome. Good fellow. Intelligent and logical; examines things in a reasonable way. I find it encouraging that he's the one standing beside the man. He'll keep him in check. He might like chess; worth finding out. A young fellow heavily burdened. Also someone of uncommon goodness and kindness, someone willing to pronounce another a friend for little reason. Too trusting, perhaps, but ultimately we can use trusting, kindly sorts. Possessed of a ring of uncommon power, something sought by his enemies. Why has no one taken that dangerous item from him? He would be safer if someone else had it. Odd fellow. Inscrutable. Though he's spoken a great deal to me, I still cannot completely get a read on him. He seems very kindhearted, but also says that he's murdered a slaver - a crime that is not mine to forgive, though it leaves me wary of him indeed. (Is it permissible to continue to associate with a criminal if his crime was taking the law into his own hands when there is no law in his home? I'm troubled.) Why is he so cheery? Why does he act so kind? What is he hiding?

What has happened to this girl? What has she suffered in this war? She is marked over by unhappiness and mistrust. Her links to the Starks are strong but poorly explained, and their protectiveness is clear. It is good she has her wolf to defend her, at least; that fact gives me some peace. Would I could grasp her. Claims to be an artificial intelligence trapped in a human body. What proof is there of this? No matter. Brink likes him, so either he is a decent sort or Brink's taste is terrible. Very excitable; set off by the word "moron." I dearly hope that Franziska is never subjected to being brought to this place, but I cannot help but wonder how the two of them would interact. A fellow of wit, learning, and utter idiocy. He thinks it perfectly acceptable to mock at others' attempts to make progress, all the while leaning back and reciting others' words as though they were original thought. No doubt someone who's had it easy his whole life, coasting by on his good looks and his "charm." Well, I have little use for "charm," and I have little use for him.

A fellow from far into my future. His world went through some great conflict between artificial intelligences and actual people. Seems to believe on some level that all of this is some great trap - that it's an artificial construct. The theory makes some sense. I can never tell what he's thinking - is he being facetious when he talks, or genuine? Is he making fun or is he listening to me? A fellow who helped me when I first arrived and explained to me what was going on. He does not believe that we will be going home. I take that as a challenge, and have challenged in return to hold onto his strength of will until such a time as I see him returned home. Edit, Aug.: Appeared again in a younger form. I don't entirely know what to make of him. He is the same man, but there are differences, as well - it is hard to say…Foolish; I find myself in conflict with him where no conflict should exist. I like Black; I enjoy conversing with and interacting with him. Am I such a fool, though, that I would treat that acquaintanceship of ours like some bone, hunch over it and snarl and show my teeth, hackles raised? The time spent on this ship has manifested into a sharp slide into idiocy. Graduate of Harvard Law. Never began practice - why? A bit too jovial, a bit too prone to humor, but nothing can be ideal. Worth talking to. Might be helpful.

A fellow who's guarded with his words and his history. Why? What's he hiding? Have gleaned so far that he's powered (magnet powers? I thought I was being facetious), that he was a Nazi hunter, that he comes from a time before mine. His society is unequal. The more he prevaricates and evades the more I wish to know, and I fully intend to uncover this information. Worthless fool. No wonder no one has made any progress with idiots like him around sniveling about how progress "cannot" be made. Why, because there have been crises in the past? There are always crises. Get over it, imbecile. I am going to help out here and your stupid jealous incompetence isn't going to get in my way, so just stop trying, idiot. Like the others, not what I expected. Certainly not the worst of them, though. And yet where is the passion for justice? Where is the rationality and level head? If they are trying to emulate Sherlock Holmes of the stories, why do they emulate the worst parts of him?

This one I find the most reasonable and the least infuriating. He answers questions fairly well, and he doesn't use "emoticons" or anything else equally foolish. If I were to work with one of them, I'd pick this one. Phasellus vitae luctus tellus. Nam dapibus semper felis, vitae interdum metus sollicitudin sit amet. Praesent vitae purus mauris. Aenean a lectus justo. Ut arcu ligula, laoreet in convallis a, pharetra ac ligula. Nam eget arcu risus, eu fringilla purus.
